US Airways plane crash on the Hudson River

A cool-headed pilot maneuvered his crippled jetliner over New York City and ditched it in the frigid Hudson River on Thursday, and all 155 on board were pulled to safety as the plane slowly sank. It was, the governor said, “a miracle on the Hudson.”
One victim suffered two broken legs, a paramedic said, but there were no other reports of serious injuries.

Sony To Axe 8000 Jobs

Sony plans to cut 8,000 jobs, close factories and reduce electronics investment by nearly a third in response to the current economic conditions. The job cuts, which represent about 5% of the company staff.
If only Sony didn’t buy its way out of the HD format war, they would have enough money to keep the 8,000 jobs. The PS3 and Blu-Ray have been a financial disaster to Sony.
